Enews – Week ending 2/27/13

From the Desk of Pastor Terrence Nichols

Our fast will end on Friday, March 1 at 6:00 a.m. Let me help you prepare for the fast. Just as you prepared to start your Daniel Fast, you will want to plan for the conclusion of your fast physically, mentally and spiritually.

a. Eating: Since we have been on an extended fast of 28 days, your physical body has enjoyed healthy and easily digestible foods. Most people have realized increased energy and better health during their fast.

Reintroduce caffeine, sugar, dairy products, deep fried foods and meat slowly to keep your body from rebelling and bring you discomfort. Small portions are better and adding no more than one type of food each day will give your body a chance to get used to the change. Do not sit down on Friday and gorge on everything that you have saved in the freezer. Praise the Lord.

b. Keeping the Best lessons: Most likely, you have gained many powerful lessons about your health and spiritual life. Carry these positive changes into your everyday life. If you have created a habit of meeting with the Lord each morning, then continue that practice.

If you have gained understanding about healthy eating habits or broken addictions to specific foods, then continue with those good practices.

Even though we do not fast to lose weight, I have heard several state that they loved that benefit and would like to continue to eat healthily so that the weight will stay off. Praise God for healthy eating.

c. Experiencing God’s love: God has been with us during these 28 days. Continue praying over those issues that God has not brought to manifestation in this realm. When the fast ends on Friday, March 1 at 6:00 a.m. we would have fasted for 28 full days. If God has not answered your particular prayer request remember Esther did not even request anything from the King until the fast was over. Keep on praying. Access is open for you now to the throne room. Go in and ask. He will hear you.

Loving: These 28 days have brought us all closer to God and to each other in the Body of Christ. Various members have had co-workers, friends and relatives who don’t even attend New Hope fasting with us. God has reached out in love to all of us and he has been with us. Continue this wonderful relationship with him. Choose a special time or place to end your fast with a time of reading a Psalm, a chapter in a devotional book, the Daily Bread for the day or just praying to God. Don’t let your flesh dictate how you will end the fast. End it in a Loving relationship with your Savior.

Join the Upper Room Intercessors as we pray on First Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

Suggested scriptures:

Psalm 20
Psalm 37
Psalm 28
Isaiah 40
Daniel 1-3
2 Chronicles 20
Esther 4-5

Special Prayer: Please continue to keep Sis. Liz Rogers and Bro. Robert Armstrong lifted in prayer. They are both recovering from surgeries on Monday.
